Experience the magical ambiance of a mountain braai, a picnic at the foot of the Simonsberg or you can enjoy wine tasting at our wine tasting area with its unique contemporary Cape Dutch architecture dating back to With exquisite views of the wine lands that complement the historic Cape Dutch architecture of the Estate, your wedding photos will be exquisite. At dusk the valley becomes tranquil and filled with magic, the mountains are painted in the colors of our rainbow nation as the last rays of sunshine greet the valley good night. The aim is to also showcase the unique terroir of the Banghoek Valley by producing a wine with finesse that has a core of fruit, that is full structured but with the elegance becoming of a wine made in a cool area. The 2014 Merlot is our first release of this variety under the Zorgvliet label.The nose reminds of blackcurrants and plums and ripe prunes with a hint of truffles and thatch roof. Fresh blackberry and black cherry with hints of eucalyptus on the nose. Light yellow in color with hints of lime green, the nose shows multi-layered greener tropical fruit such as green melon, kiwi fruit and fig. The nose reminds of fresh raspberries and cranberries with a touch mango.
